Challenger Lift A1070 Arm Restraint Inner Gear (Old Style) for CL-9/CL-10 2-Post Car Hoist

The Challenger Lift A1070 is the inner arm restraint gear (also called a moon gear) for CL-series 2-post lifts. This inner gear meshes with the outer plunger gear (A1072) to lock the swing arms in position under a vehicle during lifting, preventing arm rotation once engaged. The A1070 is the original straight-tooth design, designated “old style” to distinguish it from the later A1070TC which features beveled (angled) teeth. The straight-tooth and beveled designs are not interchangeable – the inner and outer gears must match in tooth style. A total of four inner gears (one per arm) are needed to replace all arm positions on a single lift.

The “old style” designation is critical – this straight-tooth gear is not compatible with the beveled-tooth A1070TC gear set. Before ordering, verify whether your CL-9 or CL-10 lift has the original straight-tooth arm restraint gears by consulting your serial number and the applicable parts diagram. If your outer gear (A1072) is also straight-tooth, order A1070 for the inner position. If you are upgrading to the beveled A1070TC, the outer gear must also be replaced with A1072TC as a matched set.
